Tutorial: Restoring Your Active Tab State
The cool thing about this article is you get several ways to tackle the problem of losing your place in a tab control when your script changes layouts. If you start on the non-default tab, you'll normally wind up at the default tab after the script runs. Users find this confusing. Excellent comments as well.
