Is it possible to switch my local user/pass scheme to openID without loosing my profile?
If you go to your profile, click You | Your Profile on the navigation bar, you can associate OpenID's with your existing account. Once you authenticate the OpenID you can login to your accoutn with either your regular user id/password or with your openID(s). Hope that is answering the question you are asking.
