Better AJAX support in recent nightlies (View All Discussions in this Group)
After updating to yesterday's nightly, following a short hiatus from Webkit use, I have noticed much improved support for AJAX sites. Notably, Writely now works (albeit after adding the "browserok=true" flag to the URL to let me in), as do the new maps interface at Ask.com and rich text editing in gmail. Its also screamingly fast, based on some javascript and css rendering benchmarking.
I've actually noticed the webkit release in leopard cause problems with one of the more heavy ajaxy sites I visit. Pibb.com no longer seems to be able to load push/comet data, which appears to work via an iframe. There are problems with accessing data from a different sub-domain from the main app's UI. I think this is more a blunder on the part of JanRain's development team as the app doesn't work with opera either. Their marketing guy says compatibility with browsers will improve soon with a new version of the UI.
