I don’t use del.icio.us anymore, I now use ma.gnolia.com - I’ll explain why in a future post (maybe). Both sites have an exposed API available over the web, so I thought I’d give a quick overview on how to talk to it. This isn’t meant to be (in any way) a complete or “correct” implementation. There will be very little (if any) error-checking and things of that sort. This is just to give you an idea how it’s done.

This is not a tutorial on how to use a python wrapper to access the api, this actually describes all of the low level work to sending a request through python. |
