National Press Photographers Associaton updated Code Of Ethics
From the greybeards on the final day of their meeting at the Poynter Institute for Media Studies in St. Petersburg FL comes a revised Code of Ethics to be applicable to all aspects of photojournalism. As journalists, trustees of the public, our primary role is to report visually on the significant events and varied viewpoints in our common world. “Photographic and video images can reveal great truths, expose wrongdoing and neglect, inspire hope and understanding and connect people around the globe through the language of visual understanding.” A 9 point Code and 7 point Ideals follow.
