Sherry Turkle's sobering thoughts on communication and alienation
Sherry Turkle is probably the most knowledgeable and articulate observer and authority on the social impact of computing and the Internet on society, and especially on younger generations; I never miss an opportunity to read anything she had to say. But I rarely, if ever, bother to read "Forbes" magazine these days; so I would have missed this article if it hadn't been brought to my attention by Howard Rheingold and his "Smart Mobs" blog. Thanks, Howard -- and thanks, Sherry!
