Wild Pomegranate | Contemporary Kosher

Wild Pomegranate draws its inspiration from the Jewish calendar’s signature occasions and traditions, adapting them with a decidedly modern sensibility and an abiding passion for quality and luxury. No matter what the occasion, we offer an exclusive collection of products sure to become an integral part of holiday celebrations and beyond. We travel the world, meeting new purveyors and sourcing artisans whose products meet our uncompromising standards of, authenticity, good taste and fine design. Wild Pomegranate is the refreshing kosher alternative for holidays, weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, corporate gifts and more.

The Parve Baker

I’m a Conservative rabbi and cultural anthropologist. So I understand baking as both a religious obligation and a cultural practice shaped by my upbringing, education and community. The recipes and information here reflect what I do in my own kitchen, but you don’t have to keep kosher or be Jewish to enjoy them. If you’re Jewish and religiously observant, follow your rabbi’s guidance in matters of kashrut.

Great parve baking is a challenge, but the rewards of success are well worth the effort. Baking without dairy products is a necessity for kosher meals at which meat is eaten. It is a gift at any time to family and friends who are lactose intolerant or avoid dairy for other reasons.

JewTube.com

JewTube is a dynamic new community on the web established to serve the interests of people brought together by an interest in Jewish culture. JewTube was founded in 2007 when Jeremy Kossen became frustrated with the absence of a compelling Jewish-oriented video sharing community.

Video Sharing Communities are still in their embryonic stage. Most communities attempt to serve the content needs of everyone, while the natural progression of the space will be towards more targeted content. Why visit a site with a billion videos when all you really want to do is find hip, funny Jewish content?

Is there Jewish content on the Web? Of course! But, is it easy to find cool, relevant content? No. That’s where JewTube comes in. If you want to find all things Jewish-related, then come to JewTube.

Haggadah -Digital Edition, peelapom, $18.00

The Peeling a Pomegranate Haggadah is the result of several years of work to incorporate a Earth-based Magickal Judaism sensibility to a haggadah that will also be enjoyed by friends and family. There are very few images in this haggadah, because the book is not what I wanted people to focus on, but rather the words and the experience. It is concise with many opportunities to add your own flourishes and customization, if you wish.

# Poor background color support - Give a div or table cell a background color, add some text to it and the background color displays fine. Nest another table or div inside though and the background color vanishes.
# No support for float or position - Completely breaking any CSS based layouts right from the word go. Tables only.

How to Make a Wallet Shrine >> CraftyPod » Blog Archive

Our Church of Craft project this month was Shrine Wallets. Since I forgot my camera this time, I’ll offer up a tutorial instead.

These are based on Mexican Shrine Wallets, which are small, tri-fold pocket shrines. Unfolded, they reveal pictures of saints, a miniature rosary, and a printed prayer folded up into a pocket. There’s a photo of one here.

My version is a more generalized pocket shrine, which can commemorate anything you like. I love the idea of carrying one around in your bag as a reminder of your favorite people, places, or things.
